Amen.

St Andrews Christmas Fair
Ros Grant, the organiser of the Fair writes
‘As you will all know by now, St Andrews Christmas Fair is being held on Saturday 11th November in Callander Kirk Halls from 10-2pm.
I would just like to thank everyone for their donations to date for various stalls. We seem to struggle every year for the Tombola, Raffle and Gift Stalls, but invariably, it all comes together in the end.
This year, we will again have our usual stalls of Home Baking; Tombola; Gifts; Grand Raffle; Books; Brick-a-Brak; Chocolate Fountain; and of course be serving teas/coffees along with home baking and soup and toasties later in the morning. We will also be joined by our local Cubs, Scouts and Guides selling the crafts they have made, along with guests renting tables selling home made continental chocolates; Calendars and place mats; knitting; and handbags, purses and candles. Callander Chimes will be again providing background Christmas music.
As well as being St Andrews main fundraising event of the year, it is also a lovely community event. I do hope you will encourage friends and family to come along on the day.
One of the 6 food hampers which will be included in the raffle has been sent over to St Marys for display at the back of the Church along with a book of raffle tickets. If members of the congregation would like to purchase raffle tickets, they can be assured that all tickets sold will be entered into the main draw and will have the chance of winning any of the hampers as well as many other prizes. The hamper and raffle tickets will be there until w/c 6th November. Alternatively, it would be lovely to see you at the Kirk Hall on 11th November!
If anyone has bric-a-brac they wish picked up please contact Roslynn on 01877 330353 or Richard as above’

Heavenly Father,

to destroy the works of the devil
and to make us the children of God and heirs of eternal life:
grant that we, having this hope,
may purify ourselves even as he is pure;

The Linkage Advent Carol Service Sunday 3rd December
A word of explanation about this service, which is being held for the first time this year. The service doesn’t replace the two Christmas Carol services, which will be held in both churches on the 17th December.
It is hard for the Church during December not to be swept along by the busyness and anticipation of Christmas like everyone else. What with this and Annual Meetings, December passes with hardly a thought for the watching and waiting for the coming of the King to his kingdom which is the meaning of Advent. It is hoped therefore that this service of readings and advent hymns will provide some meaning to the beginning of the season, as well as allowing the Linkage congregations an opportunity to worship together.
