Ash Wednesday

This Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. There are Ash Wednesday services at St Andrews commencing 10.00 and a Taize service at St Mary’s starting at 18.30 Please note the earlier start time.

World Day of Prayer

This will take place at 14.00 on Friday 6th March at St Andrews. Further details from Sandra Connell

Easter Lily Fund

The Lily fund in both churches is now open

St Mary’s Business Forum

The next meeting of the St. Mary’s Business forum will take place at 7 o’clock on Tuesday 10 March. Tthe topic will be “What is my website for?”. There will be a presentation by Simon Ward of LDMA. Simon is building Aberfoyle’s website and this will be an opportunity to ask him how it will interact with your own website. As before there will be refreshments provided, and a donation of £2 will be requested to cover costs.

St Mary’s Third Sunday at Three Concert series

The next in the series will take place at 15.00 on Sunday 15th March. Coro Vincenzo will be performing works including Faure’s Requiem

This course is with the Digital Missioner of Glasgow and Galloway Diocese with the aim of improving the skills of those who look after the online presence of their churches. Headlines

St Mary’s

Heating Project

Scotland’s Churches Trust has recently offered a conditional grant of £3,000 towards the new heating system. This brings the funds raised to date to £9,300 approximately half the total required to fund the project. Thanks as ever to Christopher Roads for his dedication to the project

Third Sunday at Three Concert Series

A magnificent concert was given by The Engegard String Quartet yesterday to an appreciative and enthusiastic audience. Thanks to all concerned.

St Mary’s Business Forum

This took place last Tuesday and, despite poor weather, a good number turned out for a presentation and lively discussion about digital marketing.

St Andrews

The Church Hall now boasts a magnificent new wooden floor that had done much to improve the facility. Thanks to Hilary Gunkel, who runs the Hall with great dedication and imagination

After an encouraging start, the next session of St. Mary’s Business forum will take place at 7 o’clock on Tuesday 11 February in St. Mary’s. The topic for discussion will be digital marketing, led by Ewan Anderson of CIM Scotland. Ewan is also head of digital marketing at recruitment firm Eden Scott
