n
a special Christmas video message recorded for Aid to the Church in
Need’s website, HRH The Prince of Wales has reached out to suffering
Christians and assured them of his prayers.
In
his message, His Royal Highness describes meeting a Syrian Sister and a
priest from Sri Lanka before highlighting the recent suffering of
Christians in both countries.
He describes the Sister’s work in Aleppo reaching out to Christians and
others, providing them with emergency help and supporting them in
prayer.
The Prince goes on to reference the findings of ACN’s Persecuted and Forgotten? A report on Christians oppressed for their Faith 2017-19, which showed the precarious position of Middle East Christians.
He states the report’s finding that within a decade up to two-thirds of
Christians have fled Syria and that in Iraq, the faithful have dwindled
by up to 90 percent within a generation.
Over
the Christmas period, please spare a thought for our suffering brothers
and sisters in Christ and join His Royal Highness in saying a prayer for
them.
