Bishop David invites you to his farewell eucharist on the 25th June and writes
‘Dear Friends,
I’ve become a student of the journey towards retirement. The first key concept seems to be that of ‘ending well’ – giving thanks for what has been so that the diocese can move forward into the next stage of its life. We have shared much together – wonderful times and difficult times – and all part of the story of God’s dealing with us. We need to affirm and celebrate that – and to commit the future life of the diocese to God.
The service also marks the 40th Anniversary of my ordination as a priest – at heart we all share that journey of vocation and ministry’.
Sunday 18th June
15.00 St Mary’s Third Sunday at Three Concert Series
Baba Yaga
Talented musicians Gwen Sinclair and Karen Dufour are award winning and experienced performers. They have both played with orchestras and chamber groups in Europe and the UK. Together, they have forged an exciting musical partnership discovering new and original repertoire for saxophone and harp.
At the concert, they will be taking advantage of the varied sound colours from this unusual combination of instruments to explore Mussorgsky’s masterwork ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ in a new and unique way. They will also be playing “Notturno for alto saxophone and harp by Gustav Bumcke. Tickets for all concerts are £10

Sunday 18th June Trinity 1
O God,
the strength of all those who put their trust in you,
mercifully accept our prayers
and, because through the weakness of our mortal nature
we can do no good thing without you,
grant us the help of your grace,
that in the keeping of your commandments
we may please you both in will and deed;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
