St Mary’s Stewardship Initiative
St Mary’s is presently running with a deficit which naturally causes Vestry members a good deal of concern. For this reason, a Stewardship Initiative is shortly to be launched. A letter will shortly be received by members of St Mary’s congregation setting out the current financial position in greater detail.
Energy Costs
As part of the campaign, The Vestry is scrutinizing expenditure of which the second largest item is St. Mary’s energy consumption. Advice is being sought about more efficient means of heating and the possibility of grant aid to defray the cost of any improved system
Summer Fair
Members of Vestry have also been considering fund-raising activity. Apart from development of the now well-established concerts, a Summer Fair is being considered for either the 18th or 25th June. Obviously a number of volunteers will be required with assistance and bright ideas. If you feel you might assist, could you please be in touch with Christopher Roads, Susan Forsyth or Richard as quickly as possible?
Wednesday 10th February 2016 ASH WEDNESDAY
Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing that you have made and forgive the sins of all those who are penitent: create and make in us new and contrite hearts that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may receive from you, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Unravelling the Old Testament

Do all the psalms say the same? How did the Old Testament influence Handel the 18th century composer? All will be revealed in the Lenten Study Groups comprising a series of illustrated sessions about the Old Testament
