‘I thought I should let you know that, as part of Scottish Interfaith Week, I shall be giving a Lecture at 7pm at Holy Trinity, Dunfermline. Everybody is welcome to attend. It seems to me obvious and important that I should attempt to address the issues which are given added urgency by events in Paris. So it becomes an opportunity which is relevant and contemporary’

Eco Congregation Scotland writes:
‘2015 is a crucial year in the fight against climate change. This December, world leaders will meet at the UN climate talks in Paris to negotiate an international deal to limit global warming.
A fair and ambitious agreement is vital, but whatever is agreed in Paris, it won’t encompass everything needed to reduce global emissions and help those in poorer countries who are already affected by the impacts of the changing climate. At the same time as pushing hard for the best deal possible in Paris, we must also keep up the pressure at national, regional, local and community levels: where change is actually put into practice.
Join hundreds of thousands of people in capital cities around the world including Edinburgh marching for climate action as the UN climate talks in Paris begin. Preceding a march through Edinburgh on Saturday 28th November, there will be a service in St George’s Square Edinburgh at 11.00.

Sunday 29th November 2015
Almighty God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious Majesty, to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and ever. Amen.
