WEEKLY LINKAGE BULLETIN

The Revd. Canon David Redwood RIP

With sadness, David’s death is announced. He served as Rector of St Andrew’s when Killin and Lochearnhead were attached to the parish between 1974-76.   Following a parish reorganisation, he continued to minister to St Andrew’s and St Modoc’s, Doune as a non-stipendiary minister along with St Mary’s, between 1978-85.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Sheila and the family. David’s funeral will take place at St Mary’s, Dunblane on Monday 22nd July with the time of the service to be confirmed.

St Andrews

Summerfest is being held in part at St Andrews for the next fortnight. A programme of events is available from most local shops in the town or through the internet.

St Andrews

The fact that Summerfest could be held at St Andrews has only been made possible by the herculean efforts of Peter Forrester and Hilary Gunkel in conjunction with the understanding of excellent contractors presently remedying the latest outbreak of Dry Rot in the Hall. The work is now at a half-way point and will continue after the Festival closes in a fortnight. A working party, including members of Stirling Baptist Church, undertook a cleaning operation to allow use of the Hall again. This dedication and effort by all concerned is greatly appreciated.

The Manchester Church Lads and Girls Brigade

The Church Lads and Girl’s Brigade will make their customary visit and attend Church Parade in St Mary’s. This year, the Village Committee has invited the Brigade to participate in the Aberfoyle Gala Day. The Brigade will march from the Medical Centre at 13.30. At a time when Aberfoyle Vestry is considering its outreach to the wider community, this is an encouraging development.
