Collect
Almighty God,
you called Luke the physician,
whose praise is in the gospel,
to be an evangelist and physician of the soul:
by the grace of the Spirit
and through the wholesome medicine of the gospel,
give your Church the same love and power to heal;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Gathering
This year’s Gathering takes on a new format with people from around the Diocese invited to gather at St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth, and finish with an Evensong to celebrate Bishop Ian’s first year in the Diocese. Arrivals are from 1.30 pm – bring a packed lunch if you wish – tea and coffee will be provided. Between 1.30 and 2.30 we have the opportunity to eat our lunches, take a guided tour of the newly refurbished Cathedral, browse and buy books form Cornerstone Bookshop Edinburgh (please bring cash if you would like to make purchases) or walk the indoor labyrinth. We will be welcomed at 2.30 pm by Bishop Ian and then get short tasters of a variety of projects and experiences that are being offered in our churches around the Diocese. The topics include young and old together, finding new resources, inspiring worship, community engagement, and lay ministries. To ensure that everyone gets an opportunity to hear about each topic, booking is not required for this year’s Gathering and we will rotate through the topics in turn. We will also learn new music for Evensong and hear Bishop Ian and a guest in conversation on a topical subject.. We expect to depart by 5.30 pm.
