Heating at St Mary’s
It is intended that a new heating system will be installed in St.
Mary’s over the summer, grants permitting . Details of this are described on a storyboard placed at the back of the church near the font for those interested in knowing more about it. Many thanks to Christopher and Nick who have spent a great deal of time and effort pursuing the project
Nicky Aitken RIP
Some members of Aberfoyle congregation will have known the late Peggy Aitken of Mullanhead, Parkhall Balfron. The Rector has recently been advised that Nicky Aitken (Peggie’s step-son) died last June in New Zealand after a long illness. May he rest in peace.
Clergy Conference.
Richard is absent at the above between Monday 22nd and Wednesday 24th January. Urgent matters can of course reach him by text. There is no midweek at Callander on Wednesday 24th.
Inclement weather
An email was sent out early Sunday morning cancelling the services because of expected snowfall. Not everyone however was aware of the message and so this is obviously not the best method of urgent communication. Should in the future there be doubt of a service being held, it is probably best to phone the Rectory 01877 382887 to check before starting out. Hopefully this is the first and last Sunday of the winter that this will happen!
